I am South African born with family origins in Scotland, England, Italy and Zimbabwe. I have lived in Aotearoa for 20 years, the majority in Wellington. What fills my cup is spending time in nature, talking to friends, yoga, eating chocolate and desserts.
My approach to therapy practices:
There is so much vulnerability in seeking therapy. I appreciate your trust and willingness to take that brave step to engage in something that you know will have moments of deep and real reflection. I believe in holding hope, when you don’t feel like you can. Until the day you feel you can hold it for yourself again. Therapy is not easy. It is a roller-coster. I am here to sit in the uncomfortable with you. To BE WITH you in every emotional and body response, in order for you to BE WITH yourself.
I am a firm believer in people holding knowledge of themselves, their whānau and environment. The beautiful dance of counselling is the magic of combining the knowledge you hold and the knowledge I hold, and together finding a safe and compassionate way through the swamp.
I am a relational therapist. Embedded in modalities of:
