Counselling and therapy approach

“You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.” Brené Brown

I like to integrate different modes of counselling theories depending what works in the moment for you. I use a combination of Compassion Focused Therapy, Attachment therapy, Family and Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, psychosomatic theory, inclusion of te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Whare Tapa Wha and a feminist perspective and worldview. All my approaches are trauma informed and centered on finding what works for you. At times we will have hard conversations. These conversations can be aided by the use of drawing, writing and movement. We will together utilise the resources you already have to support and guide you on your journey.
